Knowing your skin type is the chief way you can ensure your skin feels and looks its best. Many people, however, get confused when trying to figure out exactly what their skin type is.

Our skin takes a beating from environmental factors including the very air we breathe, the sun we love to bask in and the water in which most of us shower. Even the water we drink often fails to hydrate our skin due to chemicals that have leached into our water supply.

 

To care about the skin the most important thing is to know what skin type you have. Without knowing that you cannot can make disastrous to your skin as you might choose a wrong way to look after your skin and wrong products to use on it.

Skin can be divided into various types according to its texture. It is essential to know what skin type you actually have and using the correct products on your face can really make a difference to those problem areas you may have.

There are five basic skin types. They are ...

  • Normal skin

  • Dry skin

  • Oily skin

  • Combination skin

  • Sensitive skin


Normal Skin
Normal Skin is neither oily nor dry. Normal Skin is Soft, Plump & Balanced Skin. Normal skin has good elasticity and is smooth and firm to the touch. The pores of normal skin are small and the overall skin tone is even. It looks clear and does not develop spots and blemishes. The pores of the skin are fine and barely visible. It reflects good health and needs gentle treatment.
